Sherry grew up in Gulfport, Mississippi. She has a BFA in graphic design with an English minor. She graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and also attended the University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi State University. she worked in the printing and magazine industry, then on to corporate communications, always including fine art, illustration, and classes. While committing time to family and life as a military spouse, she turned from graphics back to her first love, painting. Her art evolved through moves from Alabama, Texas, Alaska, and eventually back home to Mississippi.

Watercolor portraits are her specialty and she enjoys creating meaningful commission pieces. Her impressionistic style can be seen in her landscapes depicting places she has lived and traveled. Her work can be found at The Pink Rooster in Ocean Springs. Community involvement is important to her. She is a member of several local art organizations, Mississippi Art Colony, and plein air groups that meet across the state and coastal region.
